 Veterans

We honor all veterans of all branches for your sacrifice, your courage, and the lead you set forth. SSU thanks you for your service! Below are provided resources for veterans to maximize both student success along with personal guided support. 

On Campus Resources

The Military and Veteran Resource Center (MAVRC)

Supports current and prospective SSU students connected to the military with academic advising and  community event/resources.

Events are put on throughout the semester and can be viewed through their newsletter (via email).

Offers both one-on-one and group counseling sessions for veterans.

Financial Aid Office

The Financial Aid Office (FAO) supports military-connected students with verifying enrollment for United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits or CalVet Tuition Fee waivers

Disability Services for Students: 

If you have a rated disability with the VA, a history of concussions/ TBI’s, or other physical or mental health concerns, come talk with DSS on what resources they may be able to provide.

North Bay Vet Center:

 North Bay Vet Center -community-based counseling center that provides a wide social and psychological services that supply professional readjustment counseling services to both veterans and active duty service members. Individual, group, marriage and family counseling is offered as well.

Veterans Resource Center open at the Central branch in Santa Rosa. 

 

The Resource Center is staffed by trained volunteers who can guide you to benefits, services, and programs that veterans and their dependents may be entitled to.

Veteran’s Service Office

Main goal is to support veterans in understanding what benefits are available to them. Assist with applications for Federal Veterans Administration, State and local benefits (includes medical care and educational funds)
