LGBTQIA+ Community Resources
Sonoma State University respects, supports, and values every one of their students, no matter their gender or sexuality. Having a safe and inclusive environment is SSU’s goal and with the many resources available, Sonoma State hopes that every student finds a place where they can feel like they belong. From gender inclusive housing and gender inclusive clubs to all different types of support groups, we aim to make the SSU campus a home away from home.

Queer Faculty and staff association @SSU
The Queer Faculty and Staff Association (QFaSA) was founded in the fall of 2018. QFaSA was created with the intention to develop a system of advocacy for employees who are gender and/or sexually diverse. QFaSA works to provide activities on the SSU campus that promote our values of community, education, and advocacy.

The HUB Cultural Center is a great place for resources for the LGBTQIA+ Community. In addition to information and faculty support there is a litany of different clubs, resources available for students of all backgrounds, and more specifically the LGBTQIA+ community. More resources included @ the HUB is a glossary for words/adjectives/descriptors/identities for the LGBTQIA+ community. Terminology is extremely important. It is what helps makes the unknown, known and helps to normalize what we considered to be foreign to us. They include the locations of the gender inclusive bathrooms on campus. Woman and Genders Study Department is located on the webpage and is included here as a link. Lastly in regards to housing there is the "Unity House". Unity House is LGBTQIA+ and Gender Inclusive style of housing located at two different housing communities on campus (Beaujolais and Sauvignon).
